International students praise Reading鈥檚 green values

The 成人抖阴 has ranked number one in the UK for eco-friendly attitude in the latest major survey of international students.
Being environmentally conscious is a core value at the University, with Sustainability one of the four principles in its University Strategy.
The latest International Student Barometer (ISB) survey results show that these values are making an impression on students, with strong scores for Reading's 'eco-friendly attitude'.
At Reading, climate and environmental themes are incorporated into teaching in all subjects, while the University has achieved an almost 60% since 2008/09.
This is supported by putting sustainable dishes on campus menus, prioritising and winning Green Flag Awards 14 years running.
Reading also achieved strong overall satisfaction scores across a range of services.
ISB 2024 survey results
The ISB surveys international students across participating global institutions on their university experience, including pre and post-arrival. It was last run across November and December 2024.
Students from more than 160 countries attend Reading. A total of 816 international students at undergraduate and postgraduate level responded to the 2024 wave two survey.
Reading’s latest results included:
- Ranked number 1 in the UK for eco-friendly attitude.
- 90% of students were either very satisfied (31%) or satisfied (59%) with their experience at Reading, which is equal to the global average.
- Above-benchmark scores for a range of elements, such as expertise of lecturers; making friends from the UK; financial support; and employability-related elements.
- Increased satisfaction scores for most living elements over the last two years.
The University uses feedback submitted through the ISB survey to make improvements to its University facilities and support services for international students.
