We are an organisation committed to helping International Qualified Teachers and international students find a clear path to teaching in the UK.
We also support our local member schools with the recruitment and employment of overseas teachers.
What is CEOT?
We are the Centre of Excellence for Overseas Teachers (CEOT), and we work with three primary audiences:
- International Qualified Teachers (IQTs)
- CEOT members (schools from the local area)
- Non-UK citizens who are interested in teaching.
We aim to support our local member schools and the employment of overseas teachers in the following ways:
- International Qualified Teachers (IQTs): we help connect IQTs with teaching positions available in our network of member schools.
- CEOT member schools: we support our member schools with teacher recruitment and retention by advertising vacancies to appropriate and qualified candidates.
- Non-UK citizens who are interested in teaching: we help international students gain the qualifications and experience needed to become teachers in the UK.
To further support the retention of international teachers, we are setting up a Buddy System. This network will connect international teachers and applicants with fellow international teachers in their school, or with international teachers who are also graduates of the Institute of Education.
